How neurodivergence shows up in the therapy room

  • Acorn to Oak Education Online (map)

Our team’s research identifies that neurodivergent clients often present differently from neurotypical assumptions about mental health, communication and emotional processing.

Many adults identify as neurodivergent as adults and may not know what this means for them and what they need so it is important for therapists to understand how neurodivergence shows up in the therapy room.

This advanced CPD session explores masking, alexithymia, executive functioning, sensory differences, monotropism, demand avoidance and trauma. We will discuss how these experiences can influence assessment, formulation and therapeutic work.

Ideal for: Therapists, psychologists, coaches and mental health practitioners.
